Rhythm and Rhyme
Ages 9 months to 35 months and their caregivers

Wednesdays*, 10:30 AM, March 17 through May 12(FULL)
Thursdays**, 10:30 AM, March 18 through May 13 (FULL)

Miss Laurie will lead toddlers in activities focusing on music, movement, rhythm instruments and nursery rhymes. A short age-appropriate story will also be read, followed by parachute play and 15 minutes of free play with toys supplied by the library.

In this session we will look for clues in stories as we read a variety of puzzling tales. During our craft projects we will use detective’s tools for some forensic fun!

For children ages 3 to 6.
Tuesdays, 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM, Feb 23 to March 16

Can’t make it to the library for story hour during the day because of school or your parents’ schedules?  Then put on your favorite pajamas, grab your special pillow or blanket, and head to the library for an evening story hour designed just for you!  Each week Miss Laurie will read stories and lead a story-related craft for all the jammin’ jammers.

Special Needs Playgroup

All ages welcome with their caregivers

The Burlington Public Library is offering a casual gathering for caregivers of all special needs children to meet and share with each other about the issues, problems and solutions, and anecdotes related to children with any special needs. Toys will be provided by the library so you can enjoy each other’s company with your children.

The group will meet in the Anne Walluk Community Room.  Drop-ins are welcome.  If Region 10 cancels school, there will be no playgroup.  If there is a delay, please call to see if we are able to hold the session. Please spread the word to any who would benefit from this group.

In this family-friendly acro-comedic act, Heidi Kirchoferand Joel Melendez will delight audiences of all ages with acts of daring and tremendous skill. Witness with awe extreme unicycling, juggling, Chinese yo-yo, devil sticks, and some awesome balance on a really big rolling globe! Audience participation is a must, and all around merriment and good times will be had by all.

Following the performance, Peter Rabbit will be on hand for photo opportunities and the annual candy hunt..
Free admission, due to the Congressional Direct Grant.

Percy Jackson Trivia Show

In the Percy Jackson & The Olympians books, author Rick Riordan fuses action, suspense, and humor with classic Mythology —pure genius!

In the Percy Jackson & The Olympians Trivia Game, hosted by Quiz Master Christopher Hurlbert, contestants match wits on their knowledge of all the books: The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan’s Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, and The Last Olympian—pure entertainment!

A buzzing, lock-out game set gives players the feel of being on a real TV game show. Instead of points, players collect Minotaur Horns, the Grey Sister’s eye, a Helm of Invisibility, Riptide, and the Magic Sword from the stories
as artifacts to keep score. Players compete in preliminary rounds, with the winner of each round competing in the championship round. Prizes will be awarded. Adults are encouraged to play, too! Readers - here is a chance to show what you know!

The Marshmallow Masquers is a traveling troupe of actors performing for children, teens, and adults throughout New England, who specialize in interactive theatre.

Who Stole the Golden Cat?
Grades K-5

A rare and valuable book is stolen. With the help of the audience, Detective Sam Case and his half-man, half-dog sidekick Poochie try to find the culprit in this
interactive children’s mystery theater.

Improv Workshop
Grades 6-12
1:00pm

Two improv actors from Marshmallow Masquers will first introduce the art of improv, then perform a few skits
on their own, and finally include audience participation in their wacky performances. Fun for all involved!
