Parker
Trust Grant of $10,000 was awarded to the Association: this helped the Library
establish a collection of music books, videos, and CD's that will enhance the
cultural lives of the children and adults in Burlington. This grant also
made it possible to sponsor a series of five music programs that were extremely
well received. The programs have drawn over 300 people, and the
Association plans to continue the music program series next winter.
James Parker, a former resident of Burlington, endowed a trust which was originally held by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, and has now been transferred to the Main Street Community Foundation in Bristol, CT. The income generated by the Parker Trust is intended to carry out programs and projects of a charitable nature for the benefit of Burlington residents.
Come see and listen to our collection of music CD's, videos, and recorded books. In addition, the library recently started offering DVD's.
