Burlington Library Association
TAVERN DAY - SEPTEMBER 13,
2009

I want to thank everyone
who helped out at Tavern Day. It was a great success! And what a beautiful
day! We sold about $105 in books including a Burlington Book, and a Book
Lover ornament. Hordes of people came through the Little Red Schoolhouse
and stopped by to say hello. Geralyn Kysar was a hit with sack races,
balloon animals, jump rope, etc.

In particular, I would like
to thank Anne Walluk and Nancy Winter for helping me arrange the day,
Craig Winter for helping me load and unload TWICE! Len Berton, Pat Small,
Denise Murphy, Sandy Mazeau, Elaine Eberhard, Alice Taricani and Trudy
Coleman for helping at the table. Thanks to Jenny Mantel and Sheila
McCallum for helping at the desk and putting all the book sale books back
on the carts, and Elaine Eberhard for boxing up all the book sale
materials for the day.

I think being at Tavern Day
was important not because of the money, but because we were a presence in
the community.

Thanks,
Marie Spratlin Hasskarl
