We are looking for documents relating to the history of Burlington and its residents. This could include diaries, photos, manuscripts, letters, and newspaper articles. If you, your friends or relatives are in possession of this type of historical material, please consider donating it to the Burlington Public Library. All materials in the Burlington Room are stored in archival-quality folders in fireproof cabinets or in acid-free storage boxes so your family heirlooms will be preserved safely for future generations.
Monetary donations are also appreciated. They help to offset the cost of the materials and furnishings necessary to ensure the safe storage of valuable historical papers. Fireproof filing cabinets, for example, cost between $700 and $1000.
Unfortunately, we are not able to accept donations of non-print materials because we do not have the space to store them. If you have items of this sort that you would like to donate for preservation of Burlington's history, please call the Burlington Historical Society at 673-3815.
If you would like to make a donation to the Burlington Room, please call Ann Mazeau at 673-3331.
